Visiting Moldova: Speaker of Parliament emphasises European values.
The Speaker of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), Ms. Pia Kjærsgaard, paid an official visit to Moldova last week. Hosted by her colleague, Speaker Andrian Candu, she met with President Dodon and Prime Minister Filip. She also took time out to meet young agricultural entrepreneurs who had benefited from Danish assistance and representatives
Acknowledging Moldovas aspirations, the Speaker underlined the need to preserve and defend European values such as democracy, human rights, gender equality and the rule of law. Ms. Kjærsgaard and her delegation made a tour to the beautiful village of Orhei and had the chance to enjoy Moldovan wine and cuisine.
The speaker expressed her belief that in the future people from Moldova and Denmark may increasingly become tourists in each other’s counries.
